Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking people and families who have a spare bedroom, to consider caring for children and young people who may display more challenging behaviour. For this rewarding role, we are looking for a hardworking, dedicated and positive person who enjoys supporting children, parents/carers and families through play work. The appointed person will be an active member of the Children’s Centre team and will assist in offering high-quality support and learning opportunities to service users during play sessions. They will be required to carry out a range of tasks, including the planning, preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a range of play activities. The Play Worker will take the lead on stay and play sessions at the centre and in community venues for children and their parents/carers as well as coordinate creche provision for children whilst their parent/s carers access other sessions within the centre.

We are looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic, committed and highly motivated Early Years Practitioners with experience of working across the EYFS Birth to 5 age range. As an Early Years Practitioner you should have an in-depth understanding of how children learn and develop through the EYFS Framework. The role will include in the moment planning to engage the individual interests of your key children, supporting the day-to-day running of the setting, assessing and monitoring the progress children make with their learning using a tablet based system and promote their independence. Candidates should ideally have 2 years previous experience of working within a Nursery or Early Years setting.
